The gameplay is very similar to that of Spider-Man 2 and Ultimate Spider-Man, both of which were developed by Treyarch. Beenox is responsible for bringing Treyarch’s version of the game to the Windows platform. Treyarch was responsible for the development of the Xbox 360 and PlayStation 3 versions, while Vicarious Visions was in charge of the development of the other versions, which are very different from one another.
On October 16, 2007, it was made available for the PlayStation Portable. Created to promote the film of the same name, it was made available for purchase on for Microsoft Windows, Xbox 360, PlayStation 2, PlayStation 3, Wii, Nintendo DS, and Game Boy Advance. The Marvel Comics hero Spider-Man serves as the inspiration for Spider-Man 3 PPSSPP, an action-adventure computer game that was released in 2007.
