Principal photography began on June 13, 2018, with filming taking place at Warner Bros. Set in 1984 during the Cold War, the film follows Diana and her past love Steve Trevor as they face off against Maxwell Lord and Cheetah.ĭiscussion of a sequel began shortly after the release of the first film in June 2017 and the decision to proceed was confirmed the following month. Directed by Patty Jenkins and written by Jenkins, Geoff Johns, and Dave Callaham from a story by Johns and Jenkins, it stars Gal Gadot as Diana Prince / Wonder Woman, alongside Chris Pine, Kristen Wiig, Pedro Pascal, Robin Wright, and Connie Nielsen. Pictures, it is a standalone sequel of the 2017 film Wonder Woman and the ninth film in the DC Extended Universe (DCEU). Pictures, DC Films, Atlas Entertainment, and The Stone Quarry, and distributed by Warner Bros. Especially one where it would cost so much.Wonder Woman 1984 (also known as WW84 ) is a 2020 American superhero film based on the DC character Wonder Woman.

But movie studios don't greenlight projects for niche groups of fans. I don't deny snyder has a certain following and that is certainly fine to like his work.

They would have to bring in over a million new subscribers minimum to justify greenlighting a 250 million dollar sequel for a director that was responsible for the drastic changes made i the first place. The only reason they invested 70 million (And by they i mean AT&T, not WB) was because all they really had to do was finish post productions. A sequel would not cost 70 million to make. Snyder fans can watch it a thousand times and it wont boost the subscriber number.

I would be surprised if the snyder cut brought in 275k subscribers since general audiences didnt like the the first round. But to be fair, Wonder Woman( the first movie was extremely well received) nor was it bringing any of the baggage that the snyder cut is bringing. I can sort of understand your opinion here.
